  • Matt Wilhem

    Matt Wilhem, the CEO of Blockarb™, is a seasoned financial professional with a strong background in both applied mathematics and finance. He earned his degree from the prestigious University of Chicago, where he specialized in Applied Mathematics and Finance, gaining a solid analytical foundation essential for navigating the complexities of modern financial markets.


    His career began on the trading floors of Goldman Sachs, where Matt was exposed to high-stakes trading and developed expertise in managing large volumes of trades under intense pressure. He later transitioned to Nasdaq, working in their equities division, where he became an expert in market structure, liquidity management, and advanced trading systems.


    Before joining Blockarb™, Matt served as a senior executive at Clearstream Financial Clearing, a top-tier financial clearing house, where he oversaw order matching and settlement processes. In this role, he gained deep insights into the global financial infrastructure, from trade execution to final settlement, refining his skills in operational efficiency and risk management.


    At Blockarb™, Matt now leads the company’s strategic initiatives and oversees the implementation of its market-neutral arbitrage strategies. His vision for the fund focuses on consistent, risk-managed growth, ensuring that Blockarb™ delivers superior returns across both bullish and bearish market conditions. His leadership drives innovation, leveraging his extensive experience to continually refine and improve the fund's performance.

  • David Harper

    David Harper, is an expert in digital asset markets and quantitative finance. David holds a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering from MIT and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Princeton University. His strong academic foundation laid the groundwork for his proficiency in developing complex trading strategies and managing investment portfolios across various asset classes.


    David began his career at Jane Street, one of the largest global proprietary trading firms, where he honed his expertise in algorithmic trading and arbitrage strategies. At Jane Street, he successfully led high-frequency trading teams, executing trades in equities, fixed income, and cryptocurrency markets. His ability to identify profitable opportunities in both traditional and digital markets set him apart as a leader in quantitative trading.


    Following his tenure at Jane Street, David joined Two Sigma Investments as a senior portfolio manager, where he managed a multi-billion-dollar portfolio, applying cutting-edge statistical models to generate alpha while minimizing risk exposure. His work at Two Sigma solidified his reputation as an innovator in the hedge fund industry.


    At Blockarb™, David is responsible for overseeing all investment strategies, including arbitrage, market-making, and delta-neutral trading. He leads the research and development of advanced quantitative models that underpin the fund’s success in achieving stable, market-neutral returns. David’s deep understanding of digital asset markets and his proven track record of managing large, complex portfolios make him instrumental in driving the fund’s investment performance and long-term growth.

  • Samantha Greene

    Samantha Greene, brings a wealth of experience in risk management and financial analytics. Samantha holds a Ph.D. in Financial Risk Management from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Columbia University. Her strong academic background, combined with her hands-on experience in managing risk for complex portfolios, positions her as a leader in the field of risk control and mitigation.


    Samantha began her career at Goldman Sachs, where she worked as a risk analyst, developing models to assess and mitigate risk across various asset classes, including derivatives, fixed income, and cryptocurrencies. During her time at Goldman, she played a pivotal role in enhancing the firm’s risk management framework, focusing on scenario analysis, stress testing, and risk reporting. Her innovative approaches to predictive risk modeling earned her recognition as a rising star in the industry.


    After Goldman Sachs, Samantha took on a senior risk management role at Bridgewater Associates, one of the world’s largest hedge funds. At Bridgewater, she led a team responsible for overseeing the firm’s macro risk exposures, with a particular focus on emerging market risks and currency volatility. Her leadership in developing risk mitigation strategies during periods of extreme market volatility was instrumental in protecting the firm’s portfolios.


    At Blockarb™, Samantha is responsible for designing and implementing the fund’s comprehensive risk management framework. She oversees all aspects of risk, including market, liquidity, operational, and counterparty risk. Under her guidance, Blockarb™ has developed proprietary risk controls that ensure the fund remains market-neutral, safeguarding investors from extreme market fluctuations. Samantha’s expertise in balancing aggressive investment strategies with robust risk oversight is critical to maintaining the fund’s stability and long-term performance.

  • Daniel Carter

    Daniel "Dan" Carter, is an accomplished leader in the execution and management of high-frequency trading (HFT) and arbitrage strategies. With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from MIT and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, Dan’s unique combination of technical and financial expertise has driven his success in managing large-scale trading operations across global markets.


    Dan started his career as a quantitative trader at Jane Street Capital, where he was involved in developing and executing high-frequency trading algorithms in both traditional and cryptocurrency markets. His ability to optimize algorithmic trading systems for speed, accuracy, and profitability quickly distinguished him as a key player in the firm’s market-making operations. Dan’s work at Jane Street involved integrating machine learning models to enhance trade execution and reduce slippage, helping the firm achieve record profits during periods of market instability.


    Following his success at Jane Street, Dan joined Citadel Securities, where he became the Head of Digital Asset Trading. At Citadel, he led a team responsible for the firm’s cryptocurrency trading strategies, overseeing the development of proprietary arbitrage and market-making algorithms. His leadership helped Citadel Securities achieve significant market share in digital asset trading, with a focus on liquidity provisioning and risk-adjusted returns.


    At Blockarb™, Dan is responsible for overseeing all trading operations, including the execution of the fund’s core arbitrage strategies across digital asset exchanges. He manages the team of traders and algorithmic systems, ensuring optimal trade execution and continuous monitoring of market conditions. Dan’s expertise in high-frequency trading and market dynamics ensures that Blockarb™ capitalizes on price inefficiencies while maintaining precision and efficiency. His leadership in trading operations is central to the fund’s ability to generate consistent yields while mitigating risk through real-time market analysis and execution.

  • The Quantitative Analyst Team at Blockarb™ is led by Dr. Sarah Bennett, a seasoned expert in quantitative finance with a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Stanford University.
